For years I worked as the head wedding designer for a lead florist in Bath, Somerset called Flowers by Passion. My team and I were responsible for executing hundreds of weddings each year , ten per week during our busy season. It was undeniably the best training I could of asked for, but the hardest and most stressful job I’ve ever had, aside from launching my own brand. Most weekends you’d find me hanging off the top of a marquee pole, or building flower arches around entire church entrances.
Sanguisorba. Most people would not know this flower by name, or sight. It is tiny and delicate, grows white or red in colour, and adds a gorgeous final touch to every arrangement.
Most of my time off is spent away from London at my home in the Cotswolds with my partner Steve and our two dogs Teagan and Gia. Up there I watch films, potter around my garden and read books. In London, I enjoy a mooch around the shops, catching a show in the Westend and dining with good friends.
Experimental, relatable and innovative.
Hydrangeas. Since I was a little girl my Nan always had the most beautiful hydrangea bush in her front garden, and the memories these flowers hold are cherished as my Nan is no longer with us.
I always knew I wanted to work in a more creative environment as this is where I felt most at home. After working as a junior in a florist for two years I started to find my feet, and knew I was destined to brighten people’s day with beautiful flowers. Also, the job satisfaction was too much to walk away from. Since I started I have never looked back and each day I enjoy my job more and more.
I grew up in the West Country and was always surrounded by beautiful flowers. From the rambling hills, to the gorgeous stately homes and hotels, wherever I looked there were fabulous flower.
I love peonies with their large blousy heads of soft, romantic ruffled petals, with their divine scent, they are just perfect in every way.
Choosing flowers for your wedding should be one of the most enjoyable parts of organising your big day. Choose flowers that mean something to you, wedding flowers should be memorable and magical and bring beauty and meaning in equal measure.
For most of my working career I have worked in Visual Merchandising in some regard. I have done everything from in-store installations, prop building and Project Management roles. I have always enjoyed expressing myself though numerous creative outlets and a move into flowers felt like a natural progression. I started off at Ronny Colbie in a seasonal freelance role, which lead to where I am today as the Studio Coordinator.
I adore the rose ‘Montmartre,’ it’s a Garden Rose in dusty vintage purple. It’s intricate and soft with a real romantic feel in a unique shade.
Dusty, romantic, modern. I love duskier muted flowers, pinks, eucalyptus, with bold pops of dark burgundy with wispy pieces throughout.
